Braver Angels is leading the nation’s largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide. Through community gatherings, real debates, and grassroots leaders working together, we’re creating hope — and showing Americans a braver way. Our focus is not on changing people’s views, but on changing people’s views of one other.

Documentary
Braver Angels: Reuniting America is a 50-minute documentary about what happened before, during and after a Braver Angels Red/Blue workshop in Waynesville, Ohio. It was directed by four-time Emmy award-winner Jim Brown, and produced by musician Peter Yarrow.
The documentary shows 8 Democratic-leaning voters and 7 Republican-leaning voters moving through a Braver Angels signature Red/Blue workshop, from initial skepticism to more profound understanding and empathy.
You’ll get an inside look at how a Democratic voter went from threatening to cut off relationships with Trump voters to becoming dear friends with one—and how a Republican voter moved from disdaining progressives to taking co-leadership with one in a movement that now spans the country.
It’s a great introduction to Braver Angels and our shared mission of depolarization.

About Our Alliance
The Alliance
Like all local Braver Angels Alliances, we're made up of citizens from the area who have participated in a Braver Angels workshop, have become dues-paying members, and want to keep the conversation going and find common ground. All alliances have at least one red co-chair and one blue co-chair and prioritize having no more than a 60/40 split in red and blue membership, especially among alliance leadership. Many alliances, like ours, include members who see themselves as true independents who do not lean red or blue.
Alliance Members
Nearly 800 state residents who have attended a national or local Braver Angels event or expressed interest in the work of Braver Angels are on our mailing list. Over 125 of them have already become members.*
Our members participate in and help organize both local and national Braver Angels events and activities.
*You can become a member of Braver Angels for as little as $12/year. A member of Braver Angels is part of a national community—we are Republicans, Democrats, and Independents of all political persuasions. We form local alliances and hold local workshops and debates. We discuss our differences with civility and look for common ground. We encourage each other and we organize others do the same. We are a grassroots family fixing our broken politics from the bottom up. Join our legion of Americans who believe that the fight to save our nation begins with a ceasefire among ourselves.
